In addition to our regular monthly chapter meetings, The Well Armed Women of Spokane host monthly Skills Clinics on a Saturday or Sunday several times each year. The monthly clinics are open to ladies and their spouses.
Each clinic focuses on a particular set of skills and the drills are designed to reinforce the monthly skill set.
Instructors and Range Safety Officers are on hand to help shooters with trouble spots and to offer input for improved safety, gun handling, and marksmanship.
The fee includes range fee, targets (paper and steel), snap caps, and training supplies.
Advance paid registration is required.
You will receive an email (within a few hours of registering) with a map and driving directions to the private range which is located near Clayton, WA.
If you have a change of plans after registering, we are unable to issue a refund, but we are able to transfer your registration to a different date. Let us know via email (SpokaneTWAW@gmail.com) and we’ll get it done.
Attendees need to bring the following:
— eye & ear protection
— 2 magazines (3 is preferred)
— ammunition, approximately 120 rounds
— a sturdy belt that keeps your holster firmly in place during each step of the draw stroke is essential to a safe, productive range experience; most find that a quality belt is as essential to the proper function of a quality holster
— a holster that is made for your SPECIFIC handgun that meets the following guidelines:
outside the waist band
made out of a rigid material (Kydex or leather), the holster MUST remain open on its own to facilitate one-handed holstering; it is strongly recommended to avoid holsters with a forward can’t because they rarely work for ladies
PLEASE NOTE: it is extremely unusual to find an appropriate holster for your specific handgun at a local retailer. These holsters almost always need to be ordered from an online holster maker.
ALSO PLEASE NOTE: This type of holster is quite different than the type of holster that you would use for concealed carry as this is more of a range/practice holster which allows for safe drawing and safe holstering. Many ladies prefer a drop offset for their range practice holsters.
Attendees may want to bring:
— magazine holder (optional)
— drinks/snacks (optional; there’s no potable water onsite)
— folding chair (optional)
— sunscreen (optional)
